In 2013, GeiserMaclang, together with the Government of Canada, was challenged to rebuild the image of Mindanao and Visayas, specifically its high-risk and high-reward areas.

THE STRATEGY

Engage stakeholders in Mindanao tourism and non-government organizations to implement local economic development projects with the aim of generating investments and creating jobs.

Partner with the different alliances to promote the locations – Allah Valley Landscape Development Alliance (AVLDA) for Allah Valley, Northwest Leyte Alliance for Leyte, Metro Iloilo-Guimaras Economic Development Council (MIGEDC) for Metro Iloilo-Guimaras, and Metro Naga Development Council (MNDC) for Metro Naga.

•184% increase for Q1 of 2014 in total number of visits that the region logged for the entirety of 2012
•7 billion pesos in tourism investments from the October 13, 2014’s Investment Conference
•GeiserMaclang has been granted the project contract for South Cotabato’s master tourism plan,the first of its kind in the Philippines
